Meeting of the Akim of Almaty with Entrepreneurs

On January 4th, 2026, Zh. Mominbayev took part in a meeting between the Akim of Almaty, D. Satybaldy, and representatives of the business community, held in the Ayusai tract. The event was dedicated to issues of business development, implementation of investment projects, and the development of the city’s industrial infrastructure

During the meeting, the development prospects of Almaty were presented, including the landmark project “Eastern Gate,” which reflects the polycentric nature of the city and is aimed at creating a modern multifunctional cluster. Representatives of the Akimat also confirmed their readiness for further cooperation with companies implementing projects of strategic importance for the sustainable development of the city.

In the course of the discussion, Zh. Mominbayev emphasized the importance of implementing investment and industrial projects in compliance with environmental and construction standards. As one of the possible approaches to preserving the natural landscape and visual harmony, he proposed considering the concept of experimental decorative restoration of mountain cliffs damaged during the construction of the dam in the Ayusai tract, using solar panels. This project was proposed to be considered as a potentially unique advanced practice.

Zh. Mominbayev’s participation in the meeting confirms the business community’s commitment to the principles of sustainable development, responsible implementation of modern technologies, and an active contribution to the formation of an environmentally oriented economy of Almaty.


Strengthening the PV Module Market in Kazakhstan

On November 27, 2025, representatives of the Kazakhstan Association of Energy Repair, Design, Engineering Companies and Energy Equipment Manufacturers (KazEPI) and the company “Miami Solar” visited the domestic photovoltaic module (PVM) production plant of “Altyn Group”, located in the SEZ “PIT Alatau”.

The visit was part of an initiative to strengthen cooperation between business community members, industry associations, and manufacturing enterprises in the field of renewable energy. Such practices contribute not only to increasing the visibility of the plant but also to raising public awareness about the capabilities of Kazakhstani manufacturers.

During the visit, Sergey Agafonov, Chairman of KazEPI, hosted a live broadcast on the Facebook page of the NCE RK “Atameken”. He showcased the plant’s production facilities, interviewed the management, and explained the stages of manufacturing TGS-Solar photovoltaic modules.

Such events contribute to the consolidation of domestic producers, shaping a sustainable market and supporting national goals in industrialization and the green transition.

New Measures to Strengthen Industry Collaboration

On November 12, 2025, the fifth meeting of the Industrial Committee of the School of Materials Science and Green Technologies (SMaGT) was held at KBTU, with the participation of representatives from leading industrial enterprises and scientific centers.

Chairman of the Industrial Committee, Zhomart Mominbayev, emphasized the importance of developing practice-oriented competencies among students and presented initiatives for creating R&D consortia, introducing industrial tracks, and enhancing cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, materials science, and green technologies. Special attention was given to the need to increase the technological complexity of Kazakhstan’s economy and to improve the country's position in the ECI (Economic Complexity Index) ranking.

Dean of SMaGT, Nurzhan Beysenkhanov, presented the school’s achievements and areas of academic training. Industrial partners — Kazatomprom, UMP, Alageum Electric, Uranenergo, AZhK and others — outlined current workforce needs and confirmed their readiness to expand internships and joint research initiatives.

The meeting confirmed the strong interest of businesses in training a new generation of engineers and in developing joint scientific and technological projects. The decisions taken will form the foundation for a new model of industrial-academic partnership and will accelerate technological progress in Kazakhstan.
