The 2024 Gender Climate Awards, recognizing significant achievements in promoting gender equality and addressing climate change issues within the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) framework, were presented to 15 outstanding individuals and organizations from CAREC member countries at an awards ceremony held on November 6, 2024, in Astana, Kazakhstan. The award aims to honor the contributions of individuals and organizations actively supporting gender equality, sustainable development, and climate adaptation and mitigation in the Asian region.
In the welcoming speech, Lyaziza Sabirova, the regional head of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for cooperation and integration, emphasized the laureates' strong commitment to gender equality and resilience to climate change.
Among the award recipients from Kazakhstan was Aruzhan Mominbayeva, a project manager at the Center for Green Technologies at TechnoGroupService LLP. The CAREC Gender Climate Award presented to Aruzhan symbolizes recognition of her dedicated efforts and commitment to advancing renewable energy in Kazakhstan, following high standards of environmental responsibility and professionalism.
